OK folks, I dunno what tone to use or how much depth to go into, so here is the beginning - all suggestions gratefully received...
"Dear Tracey,
Please forgive this email, it is very hard for me to write, but I am getting a little worried.
Do you know anything about the situation with "Heidi Hayes"? I know she says she is dying and has been in a coma, but unfortunately some of us are very frightened that it might not be true, and people might be being deceived.
I won't go into all the reasons for my suspicions here (although I can supply them if anyone wants to know), but I have had them from the day she posted on the BBS about how she had been told her diagnosis...I am not in the same country, but I was a nurse and I do not know of any doctor who would call a teenaged patient on the telephone while her parents were out of the country, and tell her she has cancer and it's terminal. I know some other people shared my concerns at the time, but I kept quiet because if she really is so ill, goodness knows I would not want her or her family to suffer any more than they already are.
If she doesn't have cancer then obviously she must be in need of psychiatric help, and I am concerned for her mental wellbeing.
The reason for involving the fanclub, is that having apparently woken after a coma, she has immediately started posting on the fanclub board, and is basically asking people to fund her to go and see Darren, as it will be her last chance. Is there any way at all of verifying her story, so that people could decide whether to try and help or not? Also, I am not sure the fanclub message board is the place for anyone to be appealing for donations of money, no matter how noble the cause - although you may disagree and I will respect that."
Comments please?

I think that is worded very well. I personally cannot think of anything to add...

I know it's late in some parts of thwe world, (like here!) but I need to get this off asap - I go away for a week in 36 hours time, and would rather try and get a response from the fanclub before I go....so if people can post reactions/suggestions as soon as they read, I would be most grateful!

Thanks folks, I will wait til a few more people (and esp Michelle, LOL) have seen b4 sending though, as it will have their names on too. I thought I would sign it from me and then put "also on behalf of" and then everyone else who wants to sign, does that sound ok?
Plus, just to let you know, I have been speaking to a mod on the Sony BBS and they had lots of people mail them too - and one of them has already contacted Tracey about it..
..So do we go ahead as well or wait and see? My feelings are mixed - on the one hand I don't want to stir, but on the oher hand if they realise several people are worried, it backs up whatever was said by the person who already emailed the fanclub about it....Views please?

hmm... tough call Sue. I think I would personally favour waiting to see what comes from one of the Mods speaking to Tracey about it. Only because I don't think there needs to be multiple mails to her about this issue.
But I will support either decision

Thankyou very much for doing that, Sue
I would say there's no harm in adding our concerns to the BBS mod's e-mail we're not sending loads about it, after all I'll leave it up to you to make the final decision on it though, as you were the one who wrote it
Thanks again.

Sue you've worded that very well indeed I too have had my suspicions about this, and if I am wrong then I am going to feel like the most horrible hypocritical bitch ever, but something does just not add up or feel right about her posts. I hope for her sake she eventually gets the help she obviously needs. Isn't there also a helpdesk to which problems of a personal nature can be addressed?

The last fanzine carried a story (on page 2) about Suzie Coote who offers a shoulder to lean on - the helpdesk. Her email address is given as
I believe Suzie also posted a thread on the bbs today - when it was actually working
